Our concept:

• We offer classic, authentic Ayurvedic treatments (Panchakarma and wellness) under medical supervision.
• Our doctors are registered with the Sri Lankan Ayurveda Medical Council.
• We only use certified herbal medicine from well-known manufacturers such as Link, Himalaya, Siddhalepa etc. or herbs from our own garden.
• Each treatment is planned individually by the doctor after taking a medical history.

The treatment includes:

• overnight stay
• full board (according to doctor's recommendation)
• Doctor consultations (from three nights, about once a week)/ Anamnesis form for the initial consultation will be sent upon booking
• about 5 Ayurvedic treatments per day
• Ayurvedic herbal medicine
• herbal teas and hot water
• 5 times yoga per week (usually Monday-Friday)
• With us you will experience your Ayurveda treatment individually and personally accompanied by Silke (qualified social pedagogue and Ayurveda therapist, German) and/or Lucky (Sri Lankan, Buddhist, speaks very good German), who also live directly in the villa. We are always happy to answer any questions you may have about Ayurveda, the Ayurvedic lifestyle, meditation and Buddhism and life in Sri Lanka.
• Please note: No treatments will take place on the day of arrival or departure.

From 10 nights additionally:

• Spa opening ceremony and spa closing with flower bath and the opportunity to try on a saree.
• Possibility for an online pre- and post-consultation with Silke/ Ayurveda therapist
• Ayurveda and spa information per room (large guest handout with lots of information about Ayurveda, the spa treatment, description/sequence of treatments, basics of Ayurvedic nutrition, tips for everyday life at home --> specially compiled for Wasanawan Villa guests) to take home
• Spa diary per guest - 1 page per spa day with reflection instructions, affirmations etc. (specially compiled for Wasanawan Villa guests) to take home.
• the Wasananawan Villa backpack or the Wasanawan Villa apron to take home
• Possibility (before and/or after the treatment) for an online consultation (for a fee) with our doctors.

Additional info:Panchakarma and wellness treatments differ in the intensity of the detoxification measures.

• wellness treatments can be booked for a minimum stay of two nights.
• Ayurvedic treatments usually consist of various massage techniques, herbal compresses and stamp massages.
• Special treatments such as forehead pouring (Shiro Dhara) are only administered on the prescription of our Ayurvedic doctors.
• At Panchakarma treatments (Pancha=5, Karma = action) you have to take into account a minimum stay of 14 days.
• It can In addition to the wellness treatment, 3 of the 5 actions are used, e.g. purgatives, nasal treatment, enemas.
• After taking the medical history, the doctor decides whether Panchakarma and which of the treatments are recommended.
• We do not carry out therapeutic vomiting or leech treatments; in our opinion, these belong in the context of clinic-like institutions or resorts.



Basics of Ayurveda treatment:

• Unfortunately, we are unable to admit or treat people with contagious, serious physical or mental illnesses or pregnant women. In our opinion, they belong in clinic-like institutions or resorts. By booking, the guest agrees that he/she does not suffer from any contagious or serious diseases and that he/she is not pregnant.
• During a treatment, various pain symptoms (headaches, joint pain, muscle pain, etc.) or nausea, allergic reactions or initial worsening of symptoms may occur due to the detoxification of the body.
• Prescriptions from conventional medicine should continue to be taken for the short term and may only be discontinued or reduced if the prescribing conventional doctor gives his consent.
• We respect the personal responsibility of our guests. In order not to jeopardize the success of the treatment, the recommendations of our doctors should be strictly observed.
• In our opinion, every day spent approaching and using Ayurveda is beneficial for body, mind and soul and it is up to our guests to take as much as they like.
